I was able to significantly reduce the workload early on, using automation and by questioning the validity of existing processes. During this time I worked within the team as first-line support for the BusinessObjects users. I was able to utilise my Technical Support skills to enhance the infrastructure and automate some processes, this led me to take the role of MIS Systems Architect. In this new role I was responsible for the BusinessObjects infrastructure, including the WebIntelligence/BCA cluster, Citrix servers running Full client, and MIS Team desktop applications, to include upgrades/installs and problem resolution. I was also responsible for maintaining the infrastructure supporting ETL, version control and web log analysis tools within MIS. Most recently I planned and implemented the new BusinessObjects v6.5 infrastructure including Full Client on Citrix, a WebIntelligence/BCA Cluster using Weblogic Web/Application server and Application Foundation. Migration of users to this version was handed over to an Indian outsource company. | ||
